LuMe - Light Meter

Privacy Policy

Effective date: April 9, 2026  ·  Last updated: June 2, 2026

The short version

LuMe does not collect personal data. Camera data, depth data, and any photos you add to a custom profile never leave your device. The only third-party service used is RevenueCat, which processes anonymous purchase information to manage your LuMe Pro entitlement.

This policy describes how LuMe - Light Meter ("LuMe", "the app") handles information when you use the app. LuMe is developed and distributed by Contrast Studio LLC, a California limited liability company ("we", "us"). We've written this policy to be as clear and direct as possible.

Information we collect

None directly. LuMe does not collect any personal information, usage data, or analytics of any kind. The app operates entirely on your device. No accounts, no sign-in, no data sent to our servers.

Camera access is used solely to measure ambient light in real time. No images or video are ever stored, transmitted, or processed outside of your device.

All settings and preferences (metering mode, ISO range, film presets, appearance, custom camera profiles, etc.) are stored locally on your device using iOS standard storage. None of this data is transmitted anywhere.

LiDAR depth data

On iPhones equipped with a LiDAR sensor, LuMe can use depth data to display the distance to a metered spot in real time (a Pro feature). Depth data is processed locally on your device — it is never stored, transmitted, or shared.

Custom camera profiles

Camera profiles you create (names, value ranges, and optional images) are stored locally on your device in standard iOS app storage. This data does not leave your device.

If you choose to attach a photo to a custom camera profile, LuMe uses Apple's on-device Vision framework to crop the subject from the photo. The cropped image is stored locally with the profile and is never transmitted off your device. You can remove the image at any time by editing the profile, or remove the entire profile to delete all of its data.

Third-party services

LuMe uses RevenueCat to manage in-app purchases and subscriptions. RevenueCat processes a limited set of non-personal data in order to verify and manage your LuMe Pro entitlement (whether you purchased the one-time Pro upgrade or hold an existing LuMe — Annual subscription):

RevenueCat does not receive your name, email address, camera data, photos, or location. Actual payment processing is handled entirely by Apple — LuMe and RevenueCat never see your payment details.

For more information, see RevenueCat's Privacy Policy. RevenueCat retains subscription data only for as long as needed to manage your subscription and in accordance with their policy. We do not retain any data ourselves, since we do not collect any.

No advertising, analytics, or tracking SDKs are used.

Children's privacy

LuMe does not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. The only third-party data processing (RevenueCat) involves anonymous purchase identifiers with no personal information attached.

Your rights

Because LuMe does not collect personal information, there is generally no data for us to access, correct, or delete. That said, residents of California (CCPA / CPRA), the EU and UK (GDPR), and similar jurisdictions retain the following rights:

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at contact@contraststudio.app. For data held by RevenueCat (the anonymous identifier and subscription metadata listed above), please refer to RevenueCat's privacy policy for their direct deletion process.

Changes to this policy

If we update this privacy policy, the revised version will be posted at this URL with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the new policy.
